Welcome to Moynure House an old 1800 century home extensively developed in the 1990’s. It is now offering Irish traditional country house accommodation, providing the power of country life for the inspiration of writers, artist and musicians. Enjoy a relaxing country experience among idyllic surroundings.



Our welcome begins with a cup of tea/coffee and home made scones on arrival. Our three tastefully decorated bedrooms all enjoy garden views. In the morning you will enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast and experience the homely atmosphere of a bed and breakfast with top quality, service and facilities. Our Guests are welcome to relax in our spacious lounge and enjoy our well stocked library or sit and relax in the garden. All of our rooms are equipped with WiFi, TV and Hairdryers for your convenience.



Decide how you want to spend your time with us. You can experience the local Historical and Cultural sites; namely Clonmacnoise and Athlone Castle and, or you can have a cruise on the Shannon. Enjoy the country side walking and cycling trails. The rivers and lakes in the area are popular with anglers, birdwatchers, swimmers and sailing enthusiasts. The recently opened indoor international arena means Athlone is becoming a fast favourite for athletics world wide. We have some of the finest Golf courses within a 10 minutes drive. We will provide you with advice and literature on all sites and activities. Tee times and cruises can be pre-booked for your convenience.
